Notes:

This new feature is experimental.

We do  know  this new technology will work on the east coast, but there may be areas of "blackout" and periods of time when the system does not update.

Where are we?

The Barnhart Middle School Amateur Radio Club's FCC call sign is N6BMS.  Using Amateur Radio, we will transmit our location while traveling throughout the day and you may track our progress over the internet.

Using APRS, or the Automatic Position Reporting System, our location will be superimposed on a basic street map. This new feature is still experimental for Barnhart School.  The plan is to travel with an HT, or handheld transmitter, and a small GPS system.  Amateur Radio stations located across our route, and around the country for that matter, might receive our position report which is then relayed over the internet.  Using this page you may note our location.

Click here to track our students.  The page should auto-refresh once every 30-seconds displaying a new position report.  If your browser is not "auto-refreshing," use your refresh button to receive an updated position report.  Or, click here to track our students using Google maps.  This map has more detail but does not auto-refresh.
