The day started off well and it just got better!  This group is the easiest group to wake up that I can ever remember.  They may actually be sleeping some at night too.

Our first adventure began in Williamsburg with the class dividing into two teams for a scavenger hunt around the colonial part of the time.  Each team was given several photographs and descriptions to find.  When they found their item, they were given a piece to the puzzle.  While on the “hunt,” we visited the Capitol, several merchant’s shops, the jail, and the printing press.

After the hunt, everyone went through the Governor’s Palace.  This is a very impressive place.  Then we were on to lunch at the King’s Arms Tavern.  We had an authentic 18th century tavern meal, complete with homemade ice cream for dessert.

The rest of the day was spent exploring and shopping on the Duke of Gloucester Street.  We left at 5:00, after our patriots marched down the center of the street singing “Yankee Doodle” at the top of their lungs.

We are now in our hotel in DC.  It is late and we are all very tired.  Tomorrow is another early-rising, action packed day.  So for now,

Good-Night,

Kathy, David, JoAnn, and Travis
